baked ziti recipe delish

hey what's up you guys it's your boy simply flew by TTY and today I'm gonna be teaching you guys how to make a very simple yet quick baked ziti with meat sauce so what we're working on right now is just giving a rough chop to I say about maybe about a cup and a half worth of Italian flat-leaf parsley I would definitely advise for you guys to get the fresh ingredients for this I would not use the dried herbs for this it truly does make a big big difference so the next thing we're gonna work on as US Americans like to say ricotta or as the Italians like to say record that honey Charlo I'm using roughly about three cups however if you guys want to know how to make that from scratch just let me know down in the comment section I'll do a video for you guys I've also just added in two large eggs we're gonna add in some black pepper and a nice pinch of kosher salt as you guys know big ZD is loaded with cheese so of course, that has plenty of salt so don't go crazy I'm also gonna be using as you just saw the missus - salt-free Italian blend once again you know try to be mindful of how much salt you're using because you're gonna be adding in so much cheese now I'm adding in roughly about a cup to about a cup and a half of both mozzarella and Parmigiano Reggiano and I'm also now adding in our flat-leaf parsley and we're just gonna give this a good mix now I would suggest for you guys to make sure you do this honestly even before you start to boil the water you really want to give this time to kind of real gel together and let all of those seasonings kind of really mix up in that ricotta cheese because you can kind of tell the difference in the end so it doesn't have to sit for hours or anything like that but you know gives it a little bit of time as far as the pasta y'all should know how to boil pasta honey but what I will say is do not and I repeat do not put oil in the water it is unnecessary all you need to do is stir the noodles around put some salt in it and you're good to go don't put a wall in it now as far as the meats here that are roughly about two pounds of ground beef and then just you know one package of the hot Italian sausage now if you really really want to elevate this and you do have time to do it I would definitely say use my bolognese sauce for the meat sauce in this recipe okay I'm gonna leave the link up right now it should have just popped up on the screen check if you know in advance that you're gonna make this and you really want this to be something fancy makes the bolognese sauce it's the biggest difference this right here what you're looking at is just a very quick version you know what I'm saying so what we've added to this was some crushed red pepper flakes about a tablespoon and a half of both onion powder and garlic powder and then we're gonna be using my own personal seasonal salt which I will be selling soon and like I said you know just give that a mix once again this particular recipe is meant to be nice quick easy however if you know that you're gonna plan this for a dinner party or something like that I would 1000% say use the Bolognese recipe sauce for your meat sauce now you want to make sure that of course, you're cooking this meat fully off and then once you do go on ahead and drain all of that excess oil off and then return the meat back to the pan you don't want all that excess oil now as far as the sauce itself I would say use whatever your favorite brand is okay be it a marinara a spaghetti sauce whatever it is because you know everybody's very particular also if you are one that likes to put sugar in this spaghetti you do what you got to do to make this taste good okay I don't like no candy damn spaghetti I don't want no sweet tomato sauce so I don't put sugar in a mine or at least I don't anymore what I will say though is make sure that you're not using too much as you can see you want this meat sauce to stay nice and rich and a hearty so don't go too wild with adding too much sauce now this is just a personal preference I like to add the ricotta cheese to the noodles prior to putting it in the baking dish just because I really want to make sure the noodles are completely coated and also kind of doing it this way also kind of allows the ricotta cheese to kind of get stuck down on the inside of the noodles a little bit and you can really the gauge you know if you maybe didn't make enough of the ricotta blend you can always add yourself in some more add yourself you know some more cheese or you know if you think it looks too dry you can add a splash of milk that's completely fine now anytime I'm baking something with a tomato sauce and pasta I always like to put the sauce on the bottom because I don't want the noodles to burn okay so now we're at the layering process I'm gonna do the meat sauce our noodles with the ricotta cheese mixture and then I'm just gonna repeat that same process I'm only going to do two layers of cheese which will be one in the middle and then on the very top I'm not gonna do it with every single layer, by all means, you can you know add as much cheese as you would like and whatever type of cheeses you like it's completely up to you these aren't things that are really you know set in stone so feel free to make as many adjustments as you won't like I said I'm gonna be adding and mozzarella cheese here in the middle and then I'm just gonna continue the process of layering everything on now this is a pretty deep pan so I was able to get and I think almost I think it was three layers total as what I managed to get and it didn't overflow which I was definitely grateful for honey because I was not trying to have to clean that damn mess up but yeah I think I got roughly about three or four layers going on here now the next thing that you're gonna want to do is once you got all of that in you're gonna top it off with some mild cheddar or sharp cheddar or whatever type of cheese you would like and then you're also gonna use some mozzarella cheese as well now you want to make sure that you have your oven preheated at 350 degrees because we're gonna pop this in the oven for roughly I say about 45 minutes and it is going to come out bubbling and but you noticed I mean y'all just look at it now tell me that doesn't look damn good I mean honestly like I said pop it in the oven for about 45 minutes I would let it sit for about ten minutes or so before you go digging into it so that it has time to really thicken up and you know kind of set a little bit honey get yourself some bread or salad a glass of wine and call it a day you've made yourself a fabulous meal look if you are new to my channel welcome to simply food by T Y I hope you've enjoyed what you've seen thus far if you're
